My Music

I've played music, written and performed for most of my life. I have been in several signed bands throughout my career, all while holding down a job and maintaining a family! - I have had the opportunity to play at some of the premiere clubs and venues in the country, mostly Southern California, and in my youth have opened and shared bills with notable artists of fame & fortune.. to neither of those of which I possess.

Several songs that I have written have been on television and film and several that are scheduled to appear in early 2012 on the A&E network. I'm a member of BMI and continue to receive royalties for past and current work.. not too shabby for guy like me.

Along with my day job, I currently write music, record, perform and sing for commercial and background bed music types of applications. Notably I was recruited to help Master Educator Tim Bedley write, arrange, record and perform Rock and Roll music compositions for a standards based education project targeted at kids grades 3-8.

Tim Bedley, Educator and Salesman extraordinaire Mike Anderson and I, forged an alliance and titled it; 'Rockin' the Standards'. Along with Tim and Mikes skills and utilizing my talents as a Web Designer & Musician/Recording Engineer, we have successfully built a strong brand, carving out a unique web space. We have created low budget viral social media campaigns that have over 200,000 hits and counting. Our web site continues to sell and promote our flagship products consisting of 2 CD's (Language Arts and Math). These music CD's and downloads have sold tens of thousands and continue to sell all over the country and in English speaking parts of the world. Rockin' the Standards has on numerous occasions reached number 1 on Amazon and iTunes under Children's Education.

Two Seconds to the Moon earned the Jolly Lamas a nomination for "Best Local Recording" at the 1998 San Diego Music Awards, and another nomination in 2001 for best adult alternative album. This album also received attention from motion picture and television industries when the song "Yank My Chain" was featured in the indie classic The Others (1997) and the song "Football Hero" was performed on Late Night with Conan O'Brien.

With the release of Coming Back in 2005, the band became a quartet with the addition of bassist Anton Jacobs.

Ben Jacobs was the lead guitarist for MATW for the final two studio albums, The Ferris Wheel (1993) and The Dreamland Cafe (1995). Ben was also the lead guitarist of Randy Rose's metal band Rose at this time. Ben was invited to join MATW after its original guitarist, Brent Gordon, had left.

After the disbandment of MATW, Jacobs formed the band The Jolly Lamas in southern California. Chris Ford was recruited to play guitar & bass, and Bob Hall played drums for the band. Their debut album Two Seconds to the Moon was produced and mixed by Roger and Randy Rose.
